Filing a Counter-Notice
To file a counter-notice, the user must submit a written communication including the following:
- Identification of the removed material: Provide the location of the material prior to removal (e.g., URLs).
- Full contact details: Include your name, physical address, telephone, and email.
- Sworn statement: A declaration that the takedown was a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Consent to jurisdiction: Agreement to be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate U.S. district court and to receive legal service from the complainant.
- Your signature: The user’s signature is required to file a counter-notice.
If no legal action is initiated by the complainant within 10–14 days of forwarding the counter-notice, the material may be restored.
